In the Catalan city of Vilanova i la Geltrú, when King Carnival dies, townspeople dress in mourning and offer bouquets of phallic vegetables, women and transvestite men lament the loss of sexual pleasure, and everyone gathers in the square to hear the eulogy upon which this song is based while the body of the king-packed with explosives-is burned on a fiery pyre.
